Defensive
Strategies outlines the
positioning of players for a
variety of game situations. This
video outlines techniques
learned by
coach/scout/instructor Tom
Emanski over his twenty+ years
in the game of baseball.
Collegiate Baseball Newspaper
Video Review:
Another in a long time of top
notch videos has just been
turned out by Tom Emanski of
Baseball World called Baseball
World's Defensive Strategies
101.
Emanski is one of the top youth
baseball instructors in the
country, and this can be backed
up by several AAU National
Championships as his teams set
numerous offensive and defensive
records in those tournaments.
The genius of Emanski is
thorough instruction which many
coaches don't either think of or
fail to communicate to their
players. Defense, always one of
the crucial aspects of baseball,
is explained in a no-nonsense
fashion in the exact way that
has allowed Baseball World teams
to win national championships.
The video covers standard
positioning of infielders and
outfielders as well as special
situations such as bunt
defenses, first and third
defenses, double play depth and
many other situations. Shawn
Pender of Baseball World
explains holding runners on,
picking them off and includes
several outstanding drills for
achieving a superior defensive
team. If this was not enough,
the video has bonus sections
from balks to tandem relays.
As always with Emanski
productions, the video is first
rate with outstanding camera
angles and quality graphics to
hammer home points. I would
recommend this video to all
coaches and players. It is first
rate all the way.
